Finished a page, so I win a Hester Shaw break. Cartoony because I imagine books in cartoons for some reason
Fanart is more acceptable if it’s from a book and nobody knows who you’re talking about, right?

So when you like a lot of posts by a blog on tumblr it’s called a tumblr crush
Here we have fashion history blog (omgthatdress), Bean Cans blog (cansofbeans), friend’s mostly silly pictures blog (unevenstyle), friend’s mostly guinea pig and gif blog (velocera), skeleton blog (skullandbone), sword reference blog (art-of-swords), Gigifritter/Cucumber Quest blog (gigidigi), Art Student Owl memes (fyeahartstudentowl) and Nedroid comics blog (nedroidcomics)
I’m not exactly sure how this is calculated, but I really like dresses I guess
Okay procrastination over. Back to inking, go go go

(Still a WIP, by the way)
Okay so it’s three in the morning and I will be hitting the unhinged romantic poet stage of tired soon, but I’m working on a cover painting and thought I should tell you guys about the magic of wet-in-wet/wet-on-wet (I’m not sure what it’s actually called, most of what I know about watercolors I’ve scraped out on my own through trial and error). It’s that thing when you put paint/pigment on a place that isn’t completely dry.
I never really liked it at first because it’s seemingly unpredictable. BUT as with all watercolor technique it’s not actually unpredictable, it will do what you want with the right amount of moisture control and depending on the pigments you’re using and the paper and how much paint you’re throwing around. But it’s the only way to get certain color blends and it makes stuff look really nice when you know what you’re doing, or when you get lucky. Or both.
I think watercolor is really a mixture of know-how and just putting stuff down and hoping for the best.
I love watercolor fiveeverrrrrr
